Relational – September 3 Campaign Update

This November 6th, East Texas has the opportunity to break the stalemate of ineffective leadership. We have the chance to elect somebody who is willing to do the hard work, the homework, and the heart work to build relationships in Austin and to be an effective voice.

mastheadEMAIL.jpgFriends and Neighbors,

Happy Labor Day! School is back in session, the political season has started, and we are two months out to the election.

Make sure you are registered to vote. You can check your voter status here. And you can register here.

This November 6th, East Texas has the opportunity to break the stalemate of ineffective leadership. We have the chance to elect somebody who is willing to do the hard work, the homework, and the heart work to build relationships in Austin and to be an effective voice.

For those who have not yet seen it, I'm so proud of the recent interview I had with the Tyler Loop (an online East Texas news Photo by Jamie Maldonado magazine).

At the end of the article, I said, “…all politics is relational. That’s my strength. I get along with everybody in the community. You don’t have to agree with my politics all the time, and I don’t have to agree with yours. But I listen, and I work with people. I think that’s been a weakness of our current rep—the relational is put aside for the ideological.

And that is where I draw my strength. Everybody who knows me understands that I am less interested in party politics and national noise, and more interested in getting stuff done for East Texas. It’s that simple.

Please read through the full interview at your leisure. I am asking Independents, Republicans, Democrats, and everyone else to join me on this historic campaign.

I hope to see you at some upcoming events:

Join me in Canton this coming Saturday, September 8th for a Public Education Forum. There will be a number of candidates presenting, and I will be speaking for a few minutes before noon.

Who can say no to Lola's? Join us for sandwiches and socializing on Tuesday evening, September 11th. Click here if you are interested in attending.

I have basic information at this point, but it looks like Monday evening, October 8th will be the League of Women Voters candidates forum. I will send out more information as it becomes available.

As we move forward together, please make a donation to build the campaign, offer an endorsement, and let us know if you want a yard sign or want to volunteer.

I look forward to seeing you around town.

To peace,
Neal
