Bill Ratliff, former Republican Lieutenant Governor of Texas, has offered his endorsement to me for the House of Representatives. Governor Ratliff wrote:

“I proudly served as a Republican State Senator and Lt. Governor for 15 years, spending much of my political career working on
behalf of the state’s public education system. It is our constitutional and moral obligation to do right by our next generation of Texans, and we need leaders in Austin who are dedicated to providing unwavering support for our public schools. I believe Neal Katz is committed to providing this support and I am pleased to endorse him for the Texas House of Representatives.”

It is truly an honor to receive this endorsement from a statesman who understands that strengthening our public schools should not be a partisan issue. As an Independent, I will work with everyone in Austin to make our public schools a priority. That is why I have been listening to the concerns of local teachers, administrators, retired teachers, education experts, and classroom advocates. I want to bring their East Texas voices to Austin.

And supporting our public schools helps our wallets as well. Our current legislature has not kept pace with enrollment growth and inflation and the difference is made up by increasing your property tax burden. I will work to make sure that the legislature pays its fair share of the education budget.

I am also thankful to the group Texans for Public Education” for rating me as a “friendly” candidate. This is a group of 26,000 teachers and education advocates around the State who are working to support candidates that are friendly toward our public education system.

I am proud to be part of the team that supports public ed., and with your help, we can continue that message all the way to Austin.

Please make a donation to build the campaign, offer an endorsement, and let us know if you want to volunteer.

I look forward to seeing you around town.

To peace,
Neal
